About the Program

A calm, nurturing beginning to lifelong learning.

Our toddler program supports children during a stage of rapid growth in movement, language, and independence. with two classrooms, children are guided through hands on experiences that support confidence, coordination, and early social development.

Academic Foundations in the Toddler Program

Practical Life & Early Independence
Hands-on activities like pouring, food preparation, dressing, and caring for the classroom build concentration, sequencing, problem-solving, and early executive functioning. Even simple routines and choices help toddlers develop confidence, memory, and a growing sense of independence.

Language & Early Literacy
Toddlers absorb language through meaningful conversation, naming activities, songs, rhymes, and early books. These experiences expand vocabulary, support sound awareness, and build the foundations for expressive language and early literacy.

Early Numeracy & Cognitive Development
Math concepts are introduced naturally through counting, sorting, matching, sequencing, patterning, and exploring size and quantity. Montessori materials also support cause-and-effect, classification, and early problem-solving skills, forming a strong base for future math and science learning.

Movement & Coordination
Freedom of movement is essential for brain development. Activities like climbing, carrying, threading, scooping, and balancing strengthen both fine and gross motor skills, supporting writing readiness, spatial awareness, and focus.

Sensory Learning
Carefully designed materials engage the senses and support visual tracking, object recognition, and early cognitive organization. These experiences help toddlers make sense of the world in a concrete, hands-on way.

Social & Emotional Development
In a calm and consistent environment, toddlers learn to identify emotions, communicate needs, build early friendships, and participate in group routines. A strong sense of emotional security supports confidence, self-regulation, and a readiness to learn.

There are two toddler classrooms at Flourish, one 19-24 month classroom, and one 24-36 month classroom.
