Bambino Guide
Overview
The Bambino Guide is responsible for supporting toddlers through a dynamic stage of growth in language, movement, and independence within a Montessori-inspired environment. This role involves guiding children as they assert independence, navigate emotions, and develop early social skills, while maintaining a nurturing, consistent presence.
Reporting
The Bambino Guide reports directly to the Director, Flourish Montessori Learning Academy.
Requirements
- Level 1 Early Childhood Educator certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in early learning or childcare, specifically with toddlers
- Preference given to candidates with previous experience working in a Montessori-inspired practice
- Self-motivated and highly organized
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Satisfactory background check
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid Emergency First Aid Certificate
Duties
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Supporting Toddler Development
- Guide toddlers through routines with warmth, patience, and clear expectations
- Support early independence including dressing, handwashing, toileting readiness, and self-feeding
- Encourage emerging language through conversation, reading, singing, and play
- Model gentle conflict resolution and support emotional regulation
Environment & Activities
- Prepare a safe, engaging, and organized environment with developmentally appropriate activities
- Offer Montessori-inspired lessons that invite exploration and purposeful movement
- Provide opportunities for outdoor play, sensory experiences, and group time
Observation & Documentation
- Record observations, daily routines, and developmental milestones using Lillio
- Ensure communication with families is consistent, warm, and aligned with school values
- Use Lillio to support accurate documentation for licensing and program requirements
Health, Safety & Licensing
- Ensure the environment meets all Alberta licensing standards
- Follow hygiene, sanitation, and emergency procedures consistently
- Monitor children’s health and respond quickly and appropriately when needed
